Development
The Wuji calendar was made by Guo Xianzhi and others, promulgated in 762 CE, replacing the Dayan and used until 784.
It largely followed the Dayan framework with minor adjustments, with little innovation — one link in the succession of late Tang calendars.
Background
After the Dayan, Tang calendars changed repeatedly with limited innovation. After the An Lushan rebellion the state’s surveys and calendar checks weakened, and precision advanced more slowly.
