Same name, different calendar
The Jin had another Daming calendar, made by Yang Ji and promulgated in 1127.
It shares its name with Zu Chongzhi’s Daming calendar of the Southern Dynasties but is a wholly different work. Zu Chongzhi’s was made in the fifth century and used in the south; Yang Ji’s was made in the twelfth and used in the Jin. The coincidence of name has no bearing on content or date.
Jin calendrical work
The Jin inherited Liao and Song practice and made its own; this calendar was used over fifty years before Zhao Zhiwei’s Reformed Daming calendar replaced it.
On meeting a repeated name in the histories, check the date and the maker first, or confusion follows.
