The work
Compiled by Xue Juzheng and others of the Northern Song, it treats of the five dynasties of Liang, Tang, Jin, Han and Zhou. Its single chapter on the calendar records their succession.
Contents
The Five Dynasties mostly followed the Tang; the treatise records Wang Pu’s making of the Qintian calendar in the Later Zhou, the more precise reform of the period.
In the wars reform was often set aside; what is recorded here fills the gap between Tang and Song.
