Zhao Zhiwei and the Reformed Daming calendar
The Reformed Daming calendar was made by Zhao Zhiwei, promulgated in 1180 CE, replacing Yang Ji’s Daming.
It ran from the late Jin into the early Yuan unchanged, over a century — the longest-used calendar of the Jin-Yuan transition.
Into the Shoushi calendar
The Yuan still used it until 1280; the next year Guo Shoujing’s Shoushi calendar was promulgated and Chinese calendrical work reached a new height.
A calendar spanning two dynasties and a century must have had merit; it is a key reference for the state of the art before the Shoushi.
